Oxford City and County Bowls Club to Host Prestigious Inter-County Bowls Event
The road to national glory begins this May as bowlers from every corner of the country come together to represent their counties in the hotly contested Inter-County Performance Events, and Oxford City and County is proud to play host to teams from Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
Oxford City and County Bowls Club based in Summertown, Oxford, will welcome some of the best talent in the region on 17th & 18th May, as part of the early stages of the Walker Cup, – a prestigious competition that showcase the very best of English bowls.
From defending champions to hungry challengers, the stage is set for an exciting series of regional showdowns. Whether you’re a player, a passionate supporter, or simply looking to see some top-class action, this is your opportunity to support your county and be part of the journey.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend for free to enjoy what promises to be a thrilling day of high-level competition and county pride.
The Inter-County Performance Events are more than just a stepping stone to the Aviva National Bowls Finals at Royal Leamington Spa this August, they are a key part of the Bowls England Player Pathway programme. Formats on display align with international bowls, and newly appointed Area and para Scouts will be present to observe players in action and report to the International Team Managers.
Eight teams will progress from these regional rounds to the final stages, which take place during the Aviva National Bowls Finals in August, the pinnacle of the domestic bowls calendar. Tickets are available to purchase from just £5.50 for this prestigious event at bowlsengland.com/tickets.
